Introduction

Ghost stories features 3 Horror stories as told by a mystery investigator. It is a film currently on BBC iPlayer and is a 2017 Horror/Drama.

The Good

  • Light-hearted and varied.
  • Multiple stories to prevent boredom.
  • Enough background information to keep things realistic.
  • Element of surprise used well.
  • Shock value at times.
  • Good moments of suspense.
  • Comedy used well.

The Bad

  • Slow opening.
  • Too much backstory before action.
  • Sound wasn’t used effectively.
  • Camera angles could be varied more.
  • Lack of gore.
  • Fear factor didn’t peak at a truly chilling level.

Conclusion

Ghost stories takes a while to get into, but works well as a suspenseful comedy. Too much time is spent on the story, rather than building scares though.
