Ghost stories 2017 Horror review “Bit slow, funny though” (7/10).
Introduction
Ghost stories features 3 Horror stories as told by a mystery investigator. It is a film currently on BBC iPlayer and is a 2017 Horror/Drama.
The Good
- Light-hearted and varied.
- Multiple stories to prevent boredom.
- Enough background information to keep things realistic.
- Element of surprise used well.
- Shock value at times.
- Good moments of suspense.
- Comedy used well.
The Bad
- Slow opening.
- Too much backstory before action.
- Sound wasn’t used effectively.
- Camera angles could be varied more.
- Lack of gore.
- Fear factor didn’t peak at a truly chilling level.
Conclusion
Ghost stories takes a while to get into, but works well as a suspenseful comedy. Too much time is spent on the story, rather than building scares though.
