Introduction

Don’t breathe 2 is a 2021 Action/Crime/Horror movie.

Impact

There was action early on in the movie, with varied and sinister environments.

Sound effects were used well, including snapping twigs. Plot was a bit predictable however, until the final 30 minutes.

A sense of vulnerability was established through simultaneous sound effects  and visuals. Mood contrast was shown sharply.

Brutality and gore were used well, and scenes frequently contrasted between happy and sad. The film has the power to make viewers feel uncomfortable, so it isn’t for the squeamish.

Manipulation was used more effectively than in the original, yet plot twists and turns occurred in a similar, but less memorable manner.

By the end a sense of character connection began to build, however the first hour could have progressed more effectively.

Conclusion

Slow start, strong finish.
