Introduction

Constantine is a 2005 Action/Fantasy/Horror movie, according to IMDb.

Impact

It was clear effects were absent, and tension wasn’t frequently felt. Whilst surrealism was depicted flamboyantly, tension wasn’t established, since effects were applied to this end, yet not to fear. Whilst scenes appeared dramatic on face value, they lacked emotional depth for the viewer. This was appropriate for action, and the visuals were effective enough for fantasy, yet reviewing as a Horror, the film didn’t  possess much clout.

The second half of the movie was more action-packed and interesting, in terms of storyline pace. Whilst the storyline was absorbing, and the characters became more familiar, the movie wasn’t really Horror at all, and therefore I cannot rate highly.

Despite there being multiple manifestations of evil, none of these were scary.

Conclusion

“More fantasy, than Horror”.
